Stated twelfth edition of the first book ever published in Colonial America, the legendarily rare “Bay Psalm Book.” Small twelvemo. Complete. A-H6, I4; pp. [7], 1-97 (even numbers on rectos). Title-pag e tired and with edge repair; perforated for The Forbes Library in Northampton, Massachusetts (also bears their black and white book plate on front (new) pastedown. Leaf I2 also library-perforated. Stock slightly uniformly browned and a littl e tired as expected with such thin paper. Overall, a very nice copy of an extraordinarily rare and important book. Modern full mottled calf to style by Starr Bookworks of Arizona, red calf lettering piece. Now set in a four-fold chemise within a calf-backed clamshell conservation case.
