The magnificent Harper’s illustrated Bible, published in 1846; issued in parts from 1843 to 1846. Gloriously illustrated throughout with very finely detailed engravings. A hugely expensive endeavor in its time, with a reputed cost in 1843 dollars of $20,000. Over six years in preparation. The first American book with electrotypes taken from woodcuts.

Some gatherings with very light browning or foxing; some bright white.
