First quarto edition of the King James Version, intended for personal use, printed just one year after the first pulpit folio edition of 1611 which was intended for Churches. 8.5 x 6.75 x 3 inches. Collates complete. Genealogies bound at front (complete); Epistle Dedicatorie; The Translators to the Reader; Names and Order of the Books. General title-page present with foremargin strengthened and a small corner chip restored. Shows all the textual points of the first edition, first printing. Roman typeface. Headlines occasionally just touched. Some light soiling and wear but generally very fresh and clean. Full modern calf to period style by Starr Bookworks of Arizona. Ruled in blind, spine decorated in compartments, with black morocco lettering piece. Overall, a wonderful example of a hugely important edition of the King James Bible.
