Description

A leaf from the earliest available printing of “Tyndale’s Bible.” William Tyndale was the first to translate the scriptures directly into English from the original Biblical Hebrew and Greek. This 1549 reprinting by John Rogers (aka “Thomas Matthew”) of the 1537 edition is over 470 years old. These large folio-sized leaves, printed on 100% rag cotton paper, measure approximately 12″ tall by 7.5″ inches wide, and each leaf is a unique piece of ancient artwork, carefully produced one-at-a-time, using a movable-type press. Each comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

They are the second printing of the Bible to be directly translated from the original Biblical languages of Hebrew and Greek straight into English. Tyndale Bible leaves, indeed any English Bible leaves, printed in the first half of the 1500s are rapidly disappearing from the market.

If you are not awe-struck by the availability of these super-rare leaves – then you probably do not fully understand what they are. This is the OLDEST direct-to-English translation of God’s Word in English on paper, that money can buy! Honestly, I am amazed that we can offer them for less than $1,000 per leaf, though our prices start at a small fraction of that figure. Imagine…having a leaf from this impressive and precious treasure of our Christian heritage on display in your home.
